Newport Beach

After spending a couple of days at Disneyland, we decided to do a little sightseeing.  We went down to Newport beach.  Colin loved playing in the sand and chasing the birds.  The water was way too cold for our liking so we just stayed on the sand.  I think Colin could have stayed there all day long.  We then went and had lunch in Huntington beach.  They had a BJ's, my most favorite restaurant.  After lunch we headed up to Hollywood and Beverly Hills.  I was hoping to run into Kelly and Donna, but  I didn't have much luck.  We did happen to see "Jesus" walking down the street in Beverly Hills.  He was nice to put down his his phone (I-phone 4) to pose for a picture.  We just drove around looking at sights till it was time to head back to our hotel.  We had a great time seeing sights and just being together.  I hope to make it back to California soon.

Disneyland

We had a fun opportunity to go to California for a few days with my mother-in-law and her family.  We  spent a couple of days at Disneyland and then a day of sightseeing.  We had so much fun!  The weather was great.  It was fun seeing Colin take it all in.  I would go over all the Disney characters with him leading up to the trip so he would know who he was seeing.  His favorite is Mickey Mouse.  I love hearing him say it every time he sees anything Mickey.

He also is very big on Toy Story and Cars right now.  So anything related to either movie he loved.  I was so nervous about how he would do being at the park all day long, but he was an absolute dream.  I think the only time I heard him cry the first day was when he got his picture taken with Minnie.  His most favorite ride was the toy story ride.  He would say pow-pow the whole time.  It took a few rides at the beginning of the day to get him to realize that rides were fun and not scary.   Colin got some flirting time in with Mary Poppins.  She was so cute and played peek-a-boo with him.  He would just bat his little lashes at her.  I think he has a crush.

Someone in our family had shirts made for us to wear there.  I thought it was something a lot of big groups do so they can spot each other better.  Apparently not, because we got so much attention because of them.  Everyone kept pointing at us and asking us about them.  A lot of people asked if we were there for a family reunion.  If only they knew how often we get together.  We had such a good time and we didn't want to come home.  One of my favorite highlights of the trip would have to be seeing our 81 year old grandpa ride California Screamin and Hollywood tower of terror.  He was such a good sport and wanted to ride every ride that his daughter did.  It was pretty much the cutest thing!  It was a perfect trip for us and a much needed getaway.

Aunt Kiki comes to visit

My sister, Katie (aka Aunt Kiki), surprised Kristopher for his birthday.  We did lots of playing, shopping, and way too much eating.  Colin got sick with the croup the day she got here.  I teased her that she's not invited back because the last two times she has come, I ended up in the ER and this time Colin almost did.  Of course we didn't get any picture until the last day the was here.  She had an afternoon flight, so we went to lunch with Kristopher on his lunch break.  Please come back soon Aunt Kiki!
